Sunday Nights @ the LYF Center
LYF_Community exists for those students who have a desire to go_deeper in their walk with Christ and want to be involved in a D_group (discipleship group). For every local body of believers, there is a corporate gathering to study God’s word and fellowship. For our teenagers, this is on Sunday evenings. We worship, pray, and study God’s word together as a “total” youth ministry, all ages. This gathering meets at 6pm on Sunday nights and is sandwiched by D_Groups. D_Groups are where care and intentional discipleship are done. Groups are arranged by gender and age and contain anywhere from four to seven students. They are led by a spiritually maturing person whose job is to connect relationally for the purpose of growing in Christ-likeness.
Session 1 – Love According to Hollywood (2/21/2010)
Overview – the purpose of this session is to help teenagers realize that their view of love has been adversely affected by media and has fallen short of God’s plan for their lives.
God has created you to have a relationship with the opposite sex
Love is the highest goal for our lives

Session 2 – Understanding Real Love (2/28/2010)
Overview – the purpose of this session is to help teenagers understand what the Bible says about love and that they really experience that kind of love in their lives.

Session 3 – Preparing for Marriage (3/7/2010)
Overview – the purpose of this session is to instruct teenagers about God’s plan for marriage and help them begin to think through preparing for that plan now.

Session 4 – Path to Purity (3/21/2010)
Note: this session will be conducted with students separated by middle/high school and boys and girls.
Overview – the purpose of this session is to help teenagers understand what the Bible says about sexual purity and that God’s plan for them is to be holy.

Why purity?
Session 5 – Commitment to Real Love (3/28/2010)
Note: this session, we are inviting parents to attend with their teenagers to support their commitment to purity.
Overview – the purpose of this session is to help teenagers make a commitment toward God’s plan and purposes in their lives.
God wants us to commit to purity and love
Success comes only though a commitment
Schedule:
5pm // Middle School D_Groups
6pm // the gathering
7pm // High School D_Groups
***pizza is available for $1 at 7pm at the cafe

The Gathering is the one event where we meet every week (6th-12th) as a body to experience God. During this time we worship through song, experience elements such as video/drama, participate through prayer/communion and hear what God has to say through his word that is taught. |

Girl D_Groups are made up of girls from different schools but are arranged by age level. Groups meet on Sunday nights, but do various activities throughout the year as a group. |

Common Ground The LYF Student DEAF ministry meets on Sunday Nights for the gathering and then 7pm for D_Groups. Common Ground is made up students both male and female in grades 6th-12th. |
